about

Testkard 225 was a pioneering industrial project from Danny Beller, which released a handful of cassettes during the 80's and had a major influence on the electronic and experimental scene in Israel.

Recorded on a four-track with minimal electronic equipment in the isolated desert city Beer Sheva, Genbaku was the 2nd Testkard 225 cassette, released in 1988.
30 copies were officially made and they quickly sold out. However, thanks to "illegal" home taping, it reached hundreds and made an important mark on the emerging industrial scene in Israel, while getting some decent exposure via tape trading around the globe, offering a profound focus on a world getting sicker and collapsing into dystopia, yet eventually recovering.
